1) DOE Throws in Towel on Waste-separation Method
The U.S. Department of Energy told The New York Times on Jun. 1 that it was
abandoning a procedure?and its contractor, Westinghouse Government
Services--
for the safe storage of 34-mil gal of radioactive waste. The reason: The

continues to produce large volumes of combustible benzene after more than

years of failed fixes.

series pumps incorporate a magnetic, sealless drive design that prevents
leaking. It is compatible with standard C-flange motors, and the
close-coupled

be used for transfer of most mineral and organic acids, bases, alcohols,

system can generate flows of GPM and heads up to 130 ft. Optional features
include a sole plate, flow switch, channel-mount base, thermostat, dry run
protector, leak detector, pressure switch, and long coupling.
